The businessmen of Deminc and the students of Demin Hi h School furnished the Wildcat with the revenue so important to the publication of every an- nual. THE BROADCASTER Under the leadership of Harold Cousland- in his second year as editor of the Broadcaster -the Broadcaster staff brought news and views to the students of Deming High School. This was the second year that the Broadcaster was mimeographed and sold weekly every Friday at five cents a paper. This was also the second year that the paper had pictures of sports and hi-lights of school news, through the process of gestafax pictures. The first semester Broadcaster staff consisted of eleven members-Harold Cousland, Pat Treadwell, Mercy Gonzales, Mattie Brown. Retha Ledbetter, John Hodson, Joyce Floyd, Fran Brown, Billie OlBryan, Manny Enciso. and Rosemary Duran. Retha Ledbetter, John Hodson, Joyce Floyd, and Mercy Gonzales dropped the course at the end of the first semester and Sammy Ruebush, Annie Holguin, and Mary Helen Holguin enrolled at the be- ginning of the second semester. Pat Treadwell became second semester Business Manager for the Broadcaster. Junior high students took part in the Deming Junior High Whinny, the all junior high news- paper in its second year. They were Linda Terry, Carolyn Batts, Mike Griffin, Jerry Mc- Kee, Sandra Lassiter, Gloria Gonzales, and Alice Dunckhorst. Claudia Leyendecker, Bob- bie Jean Bishop, and Joan Offutt replaced Linda Terry, Mike Griffin, and Sandra Lassiter the second semester. This was Ed Leupold's eleventh year to sponsor a mimeographed paper, his second year as advisor to the Deming High School Broadcaster. Preceding page. Broadcaster Staff.
