Senor Trip '88 April 8, 5:40 PM — It's almost here. 5:42 — Luggage nearly loaded. 5:45 — Signs displaying VJhen in Doubt... PARTY!” theme put on bus. 5:47 — Tension mounts. 5:49 — Traditional picture taken in front of bus; no major injuries. 5:52r— Board bus. 5:55 — ”1 can't get out of the @ $% bathroom!” 5:56 — Where's my golf clubs?” 5:57 — No Billy Reese, you can't drive!” 5:58 — Come on mom, get off the bus!” 5:59 — All the work of the last 4 years is about to pay off. 6:00 — WE'RE OUT A' HERE!” Our itinerary included the usual Florida tour: Disney World, EPCOT, Silver Springs, and Daytona. Of course, every trip has its own special moments to remember, or forget. We all recall that one person had terrible trouble with flies, and another had sleeping problems. Even though the Daytona wind practically blew a door off its hinges, that ocean breeze wasn't too strong to be enjoyed with only the bare essentials. However, the climate may have been unfavorable for some Tonk players. Of course, responsible seniors recalled that this was to be an educational trip of some sort, and spent time practicing advanced mathematics and conserving water. With all the excitement and things to do, there was hardly time for some to go to the bathroom. On a more serious note, the Class of '88 came back from Florida with much more than a collection of bad jokes; we returned with great memories that will last a lifetime, from the moment we pulled out Friday evening, to the journey home which caught Mrs. King with shaving cream in hand. Well, everybody is entitled to a little fun, especially on their birthday. Home, Sweet Home?” Of course.

Prom '88: Just One Night” The sound poured out of the gym. D. J.'d by WEBN's own Wild Man Walker, the Junior Senior Prom 1988 rocked into the night. The spirit flowed as the theme, “Just One Night by Triumph, played into the hearts and minds'of everyone. The elected royalty, the Queen, Valerie Sweeney, and her King, John Mark Askin, and their court, Whitney Overbey, Steve Murray, Karen Staggs, and Mark Mann, left us all with a moment to remember. And they danced. The party atmosphere carried on as we celebrated throughout the night. The next morning, the seniors went to breakfast together at Ponderosa, and then cooked-out at the ballpark that afternoon. Our compliments to the Class of '89. It may have been just one night, but we all made the most of it. ? -r
