TENNIS TEAM CONTINUES Coach Rosalyn Thomas and her aggressive tennis program continued building one of the school's most successful extracurricular traditions during the 1982-63 year. The junior high team competed on its own September and October schedule, then joined the varsity for the regular spring season. Deming individuals and doubles teams picked up wins from schools as small as St. Patrick and as large as Harrison County. Troy Myers, one of only three seniors, severely sprained an ankle and was never really at full strength. That hurt Deming's chances at the regional title, but the team still earned considerable respect. With 12 veterans back, many still in eighth and ninth grade, Deming boasted several of the region's most promising younger stars. With depth and talent for a t least three seasons to come, the Devils looked like a definite regional championship contender. And Ms. Thomas was already working with fifth and sixth graders to ensure a continued stream of talent.
