Since this was our first year of high school, it meant money making projects in order to take a senior trip. Our first project was orange sales and we did very well. The 2nd semester we sold certificates for family portraits. Our freshmen were very active and took part in many school activities. Eve Overbey and Susan Hedges were both varsity cheerleaders and Liz Pratt and Ginger Gifford both started on J.V. and also played on varsity. Troy King made the J.V. and freshman B-ball teams. Other classmates on the 9th team were Todd White, Mike Jones. Matt Mann, Phillip Workman, Danny Case, and Darrin Martin. Freshmen band members were Eve Overbey, Ginger Gifford, Susan Hedges, and Matt Mann. Our candidates for Halloween royalty were Ginger Gifford and Danny Case. Our homecoming candidates were Liz Pratt, Eve Overbey and Ginger Gifford. As you can see, we had a busy year but we had fun, and we only hope we do as well the next three years. There’s always an odd group in every school. 23
