Then came one of the biggest events of our high school years. We started making arrangements for the Junior-Senior Prom of 1979. The halls were quiet and the classrooms empty. My first day, school had to be closed. It was several days before the doors were reopened. Meanwhile, I anxiously prepared for the first real day. At last, the roads cleared, the bell rang, and I was nervously standing in front of 15 eager 3rd graders. What now? What should I say? Beginning to panic, I came to my senses and realized, then, that teaching wasn't going to be easy. It hasn't been easy for our third grade since that cold February day. We have struggled, we have laughed, some of us have cried, but I think we have all learned a lot from our experience. KELSCH BROS. Compliments of: the Deming Bands Although the Deming Devil Boys fell to a losing season and also to defeat in District Play, there are several factors that we feel should not go unnoticed. This past season's schedule was one of Deming's most competitive including teams such as: Maysville, Harrison, and Mason. It was played with its ups and downs with the coach bouncing back and forth coaching both girls and boys teams.
