National Honor Society The Deming Chapter of the National Honor Society was organized in the fall of 1963 with Mr. Moore, Mr. Harding, Mrs. Sandifer and Miss Shepherd serving as the Council. A constitution was adopted establishing general requirements for membership. A member must be in the upper three grades of high school, have at least a B (85 70) average, and be evaluated on the basis of character, leadership, and service. The students whose picture appear below were selected by the Council to make up the beginning roll of the National Honor Society. ROW ONE: Philip Bradley, Bobby Jones, James Brumagem, John M.
