M This year the Girl Reserves, a junior branch of the Kentucky-Tennessee District of the Young Women's Christian Association, boasts a membership of fifty-one virls, including students from grades seven to twelve. In October, at the first meeting of the year, Mary Jo Henson was elected Presidentg Donnie Morford, Vice-Presidentg Mary Jo Barnette, Secretary, and Connie Massey, club Treasurer. The ideals of the Girl Reserves are expressed ln their purpose: To build a fellowship of women and girls devoted to the task of realizing in our common life those ideals of personal and social living to which we are committed by our faith as Christians. In this endeavor we seek to understand Jesus, to share His Love for all people, and to grow in the knowledge and love of God. -bla GEM' The Deming Glee Club, directed by Dorthea Case, has been quite active dur- ing this school year. The Club sang Christmas Carols at the Community Tree. This organization also participated in the Easter Sunrise Service at the Mt. Olivet Christian Church.

,Jaw Fifteen students, three boys and twelve girls, make up the Speech Class of 1948. Each member has participated in the various activities of the class dur- ing the year. Such things as parliamentary procedure, radio speaking, drama, and declamation have been given considerable study. Special interest has been manifested in the Speech Festival of this year. Z? , The F.F.A. is an organization of high school boys who are interested in bettering prevailing agricultural conditions by learning and practising those principles advocated by educntional leaders. The Deming Future Farmers, of ghom Wendell Hall is President, have been quite successful in their 1947-48 pro ec s.
