At this time, after the exhausting hours of practice and exciting minutes of competition are over, the teams are recognized for their achievements, Most important of all, however, is the individual acknowledgment given to each athlete for his efforts, whether he was the team's super star or the guy that sat the bench, always ready to help the team when he was needed. Superintendent Mr. Basil Johnson introduces the guest speaker for the Honors Banquet, Mr. Ellis Hammond, an admission counselor at Michigan State. Mark Alrnan and Peg Hammond receive their awards, tudents Receive Scholastic Honors Academic achievements in a high school are sometimes overlooked in the rush of activities that are more exciting, enjoyable and popular than the school work that sits home untouched. But each year at Delton the time is taken to recognize the students who are persistent in their studies and excel in one or more of their classes.
