With the arrival of homecoming came the fun and excitement of spirit week. Various activities were conducted through out the week by the cheerleaders. Tuesday was designated as sweats -n- buttons day. Spirit races were held on the quadrangle Wednesday, which included a sack race, a one-mile bicycle race, and a two-mile run. Following the races there was a quadrangle pep rally. The traditional bon fire was held Thursday night, and Friday night ' s mid-night pep rally had a pajama theme. A 5K Fun Run was sponsored Homecoming morning by the Alumni Association. The Alumnae also gave a cash prize for the find er of a spirit football which was hidden to be found during the week by clues posted each day. A Final pep rally was held homecoming morning before the Union which many parents and alumnae attended. Then, of course was the climax — the pre- game activities and the Statesmen victory against UT Martin. .%.• i
