Taylor Publishing Company of Dallas, Texas, in co-operation with Taylor representative George Copeland was respon- sible for publication. Press run was 1750 copies with 232 pages in each. Cover: A full scale mock up of the cover was done by Jim Alexander of Taylor Publishing Company. The cover material is a white durolith printed in four-color with a Blue 017 background and a puzzle grain. The cover material is turned over a 150-point binder ' s board with both the cover and spine being embossed. The trim size of the book is 9 x 12. Endsheets: The endsheets are of 65 pound paper stock printed with Blue 017 ink. The endsheets were designed by an original drawing done by Delta State graduate Susan Pate of the Flag Plaza entrance onto the Quadrangle. Print: All copy for the 1983 BROOM is done in palatino using various point sizes. Artwork for the class section is a 48 point zippotone lettering. Photography: All photography done for the 1983 BROOM was done by staff photographers Eddie Woods, Jr. and Robert Pratt along with Bob Lord, Gil Baker, and various other photographers from the office of Public In- formation at Delta State. Acknowledgements: A special thanks goes to Dr. and Mrs. Robert Tibbs, Dr. and Mrs. Kent Wyatt, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sledge, Jr. for the use of their homes for the taking of various pictures used in the 1983 BROOM. Thanks also go to George Copeland, Taylor Representative, for his assistance in the publication of the 1983 BROOM. Editor ' s Closing The time has come for my year as Editor-in-Chief of the 1983 BROOM to come to an end. As I sit in my office, I remember all the things that I have gone through to make this yearbook a success. As far as that goes, I can honestly say that the 1983 BROOM would not be at all possible without the help and cooperation of many peo- ple. Some that I would like to say a special Thank You to are: Lisa Wong, my assistant editor whose will for work was unending. I would also like to thank Gene Luster, Edith Sledge, Margaret O ' Quin, Lisa Grain, and Michael Smithers for their efforts that seemed to be tireless. Special thanks also go to Bob Lord, my advisor who helped me get the things I wanted for this yearbook, Gynthia Havens, who works in the Office of Public Infor- mation, because she was the one who always gave some cheerful or encouraging words when I was down, and my parents who supported me throughout this entire thing. The staff of the 1983 BROOM also deserves a very sincere thank you because they are the ones who actually put this yearbook together. Boundless gratitude and appreciation also goes to George Gopeland, the representative from Taylor Publishing Gompany for always being there when we needed someone to pull us out of the mud. Other thanks go to the Office of Public Information, Hugh Ellis Walker, Dr. Mike Robbins, and Dr. Kent Wyatt for their cooperation and willingness to do whatever was asked of them. I have tried my best to make this yearbook something you, the student body, can be proud of. I hope that as you look through this yearbook in the years to come that it will bring back memories of the experiences we have shared at DSU. Sincerely yours.
