Dedicated To The Members Ot The DELTA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Delta, Iowa A Brief History of Your Association In IS96 a little group of alumni from the ten classes, which had already been graduated, met to organize an alumni association. At this meeting the Delta High School Alumni Association was formed, and Mr. George Dickson was made the first president. The first class to be entertained by the Association was the Class of IS96. The school house had burned down in October IS95, and since the new building was not completed the reception was held in the Sampson Theater Building. Receptions were held in the homes, the churches, and various other places until the present gymnasium was built. While the organization is celebrating its sixty-fifth anniversary of the event only 62 functions have been held, as there were no classes graduated in IS97 and 1903, and as the Classes of 1923 and l924 were banqueted at the same time. Only one of the organizers of the Association, Mrs. Emma Beatty Stirlen, is still alive. At the present time Mrs. Hattie Wharton McDonald, Fayetteville, Arkansas, of the Class ot IS87 is the oldest living member ofthe Association. J The names of the members ot the l96l graduating class of Delta Independent High School completes the list of the alumni of this school.
