It shares the objectives of the college in developing positive contri¬ butions to the general welfare of society. The division strives to prepare selected men and women to function effectively as mem¬ bers of the health team. The objectives of the division are to assist the student nurse to: develop the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the care of the patient; develop and use the skills in critical and constructive thinking; develop the effec¬ tive use of communication skills; develop an awareness of com¬ munity problems. The Nursing Division believes that students should actively participate in the Delta College community and contribute to the ongoing activities of the student body. The students follow a rigorous curriculum in order to develop and become skilled, safe practitioners of nursing. Thus, they must be dedicated and com¬ mitted to upgrading the health care of the community. The Delta College Division of Nursing hopes to contribute in a small way in meeting the health care needs of the nation. Sponsored by G.D.I., the success of the activity indicated that it will be repeated next year. There was so much snow that maintenance crews, working a- round the clock, could not keep up with it. A Collegiate staffer sprained his ankle skiing and Del¬ ta was closed because of weather for the first time in its history. As the Gnosis went to press the weather had not become quite warm enough for this activity. However, the ice was out of the pond, the fountain was misting with promise, the grass was green and the blossoming shrubs were lush with bloom. Delta Publications now have given complete cover¬ age of all angles ... at least of the head of Student Activities Director Mr. Stephen Konowalow. laggl STUDENTS SOPHOMORES Prepared to Leave Jean Adcock Richard Adams Richard Aik en Linda Allen Mike Allen William Allen Azale Almond Catherine Almy Jesse Alston Robert Ambrose Leonard Ames John Anderson Judith Anderson Judith K.
