Butterfield, Clarence F. Graebner, John E. Riecker. As this Gnosis goes to press Delta is completing its fifth year. Young as the col¬ lege is it has attained a certain maturity; a certain direction. During the years of its conception, birth, and infancy Delta has had its days of tribulation. Adjustments that are almost inevitable when a dream takes form as a bricks and mortar, flesh and spirit reality have been made. The original goals, to provide higher educational opportunity for the young people of the Saginaw, Bay and Midland areas and continuing education for their elders are steadily coming closer to realization. Donald J. Carlyon Acting President That Delta’s growth is continuing in such orderly progression is attributable in no small measure to the whole hearted support of its Board of Trustees. The Board is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds and personalities whose common denomina¬ tor may well be their single-minded interest in Delta. They guide Delta’s destiny in these pace-setting times when the com¬ munity college is the fastest developing facet of American education. Their success¬ ful effort to keep Delta in the forefront of this movement, yet free from the faddism that tends to destroy real achievement, is a source of pride and gratitude to Delta’s student body. 6 y :
