It constitutes one of the most efficient agricultural teaching devices that has been discovered up to the present time. Our local chapter has received five conse- cutive blue ribbons at the Mid-South Fair in Memphis. The F.T .A . is an organization designed mainly for students who wish to go into the teaching profession. The mem- bers of F .T.A. teach one day per quarter each year. During that day they are given the experience of being with the children, helping them and actually taking over the job of teaching. These days and experiences may help the F. T.A . member decide whether or not teaching is the profession he wants. . Each year the F.T.A. issues two scholarships each in the amount of 35100.
