CAPTAIN H.G. NOTT, USN COMMANDING OFFICER Captain Hugh Good NOTT, U.S. Navy, was commissioned an Ensign, USNR, in 1945. Captain NOTT qualified in sub- marines in 1950 in USS MANTA QSS2995. ln 1952 he was ordered to USS CLAMA- GORE CSS343j , qualifying for command of submarines in 1952. After a tour as Flag Lieutenant to Com- mander Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, he attended the Naval War Col- lege. On graduation in 1955, he was assigned as Executive Officer, USS WA- HOO fSS5655, and in 1956, he became Commanding Officer of USS STICKLE- ' BACK QSS4153. From 1958 until 1960, he was the first Commanding Officer of USS GRAYBACK QSS5745. In 1961 and 1962, he was Assistant Oper- ations Officer on the Staff of Commander Seventh Fleet. From 1962 until 1964, he served in the office of CNO. He gradu- ated from the National War College in 1965 and was Chief Staff Officer of Sub- marine Squadron 15, the Polaris Squad- ron in the Pacific. ' Following this assignment, Captain NOTT was ordered as Commanding Officer of USS DELTA qAR9j. His next assignment will be as Commanding Officer, USS SAINT PAUL fCA73j. Captain NOTT has a Bachelor of Arts. de- gree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree from George Washington University He has been awarded the Legion of Merit the Ameri can Campaign Medal the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two stars the European African Middle Eastern Cam Palgn Medal the World War ll Victory Medal the Navy Occupation Service Medal the China Service Medal the National De Liberation Medal Captain NOTT is married to the former Jean Harshman of Bowling Green Ohio They have two daughters Kathy and Nancy at Ohio Wesleyan University ,.,, . ,Ui , ---.-..-an-.. nafrmg- i 4 . i fennse Service Medal, and the Philippine ,I
