BUTNER3 FN SHIPFITTER SHOP The work of the Shipfitter Shop consist of repairs and fabrications of hull and structural members of customer ships, as well as those of DELTA. Some of the items made are ship's bridges, brows, Boilers, bulkheads, decks, and yes, even garbage chutes. Arc, heli-arc, and gas welding can be done in the shop. Machines that bend, shape, roll, and cut steel plates to any desired pattern with forces up to 230' tons per square inch can be found here. Lead, steel, aluminum, zinc, brass, babbitt and,stainless steel are some of the popular building materials with which the shop work.
