Chess Club and Math and Science 4 Teams Attract Top Students Three teams from Delran were entered in the Nl Science League this year: lst year biology and Ist and Znd year chemistry. After two meets, the Chem- istry teams topped Burling County with Mitch Machtay and left Levy outscoring most of the competition. The Biology team showed an improvement over last year with Sharon DiAmore outscoring all competitors. After two meets, the Math Team placed second in the league with several mem- bers scoring quite high in the competi- eam. L. Cerchairo, L. Seetoo, M. Machtay, F. Kleman, R. Whitaker, R. lanezic. Under the leadership of lim Canna, the Chess Club is a new group at DHS this year. Plans are to improve logical thinking and ultimately to compete with other chess clubs from area high schools. CDE Program Successful Cooperative Office Education QCOEJ at Delran High builds the gap between the completion of secondary school and the beginning of business careers. Through this program, the school and the com- munity work together to train qualified interested students. The enthusiasm and cooperation of business people from Delran and surrounding and communi- ties and the capable business students who participate are two important fac- tors in the success of the COE program, coordinated by Mrs. Phyllis Winston, which is now in its fifth year. Chorus Gains New Members Over 40 strong and still growing, this year's DHS chorus is the largest yet! The group performed at the Winter Concert in December and again at the Spring Concert in April.
