DE Develops Leadership The DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION CLUBS OF AMERICA develops leadership abilities through elected officers. The club is designed to enhance self-esteem and self- confidence through its members. Social responsibility and attitudes are attained by meeting and competing with other high school students at the regional, state and national levels, while their marketing and free enterprise skills are enriched. DECA is learning and DECA is fun! End and Phipps Place in Competition By participating in a variety of activities and competitions, members of Future Business Leaders of America QFBLAJ gain a better understanding of business. ln the regional and state competitions, students compete against students from other schools in dif- ferent areas such as typing, stenography, accounting, business lavv and math, data processing, job interview, etc. At the regional competition on February 21, loyce Phipps placed 7th in the office procedures event and Lorraine End placed 4th in the Steno I event. g 159

CDE Program Successful Cooperative Office Education QCOEJ at Delran High builds the gap between the completion of secondary school and the beginning of business careers. Through this program, the school and the com- munity work together to train qualified interested students. The enthusiasm and cooperation of business people from Delran and surrounding and communi- ties and the capable business students who participate are two important fac- tors in the success of the COE program, coordinated by Mrs. Phyllis Winston, which is now in its fifth year.
