Talking to DCHS Industrial Art students and teachers can excite everyone! There were so many different courses offered that it sent one's head spinning far off into space. What could be found there with the stars but a rocket made by a student in power class. Students taking Girls Home Mechanics received experience in plumbing, electricity, and even small gas engines. Auto mechanics offered good training for anyone interested in the maintenance of their cars. In power class students learned about internal combustion and constructed rockets as part of their projects for the year. Draft- ing was divided into architec- tural and mechanical drawing, giving better opportunities for those wanting to specialize in those fields. Due to all the courses offered in industrial arts, the enrollment increased in the department. K.W. The 1976 Oracle 23
