The world was a stage for many scenes as 1964 came to an end and the year 1965 began. Washington saw defeated Barry Goldwater acknowledge the inau- guration of the 36th President, Lyndon B. Johnson. Russia, too, saw a change in leadership when Premier Khrushchev was replaced by Premier Kosygin. The world twice mourned the death of great men-first in the death of former President Herbert Hoover and secondly, the death of the renowned English states- man, Sir Winston Churchill. While the terrible war raged in Viet Nam, strange and exciting events were taking place in Delphi. The most unique event was the un- precedented TO-0 varsity football record. We opened our school doors and the portals of our hearts to Marit Graff Hagen of Norway. Delphian scholars, sharing experiences with her, found their own lives had been enriched. As the year progressed each student found himself maturing in respect for his fellow man, while a new found respect for his own future aspirations was nur- tured within. And when the final curtain was drawn on the tremendous scene of commencement, everyone agreed That Was The Year That Was. That Was
