Even as the ancient Greeks found courage and inspiration in their quest for the truth as they beat a path to the Oracle at Delphi to receive the blessings from the Greek God Apollog so you, I hope, will have only the fondest memories as you thumb the pages of this book and relive the experiences of this school year. My sincere wish for all of you is that this school year has been one of the richest in your life time and that your memories will be fond memories. The Oracle of 1953-54 is the result of many hours of diligent work by members of the Oracle Staff and their sponsor. The pictorial presentation in it has been carefully prepared and presented in such a manner that it will be of much value in helping you remember your years in Delphi High School. One of the major aims of education is to develop good citizens who will successfully take their place in the world of tomorrow. The Oracle presents the varied activities and those things within our school that have prepared you to live a better life and participation in our society. Delphi High will be whatever you make it. The Oracle presents to you its many fine traditions. May you always be conscious of them. Let it always have the spirit to do the things which will make Delphi High School continue to be outstanding. 6
