Wi, f ill Co-founder of Delone Catholic High School, our Most Reverend Bishop fosters, in a special way, the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and physical development of each student who enters its halls. His hopes and ideals for each are summed up in the beautiful inscription autographed beneath his portrait at the main entrance of the school: FOR OUR YOUTH we establish the Delone Catholic High School 5 may it leach them how to live: ' FOR AMERICA, may it help to keep her . O O strong and greatg FOR GOD, may it ever seek His glory. Through the years, teaching by Christian word and example, our Bishop has enhanced the spirit- ual structure of our school. To him all Delonites look for inspiration and counsel. Full of gratitude, we, the Class of 1952, pledge loyalty to our Shepherd, ever hopeful that we may, in the years ahead, prove worthy of his ideals by achieving the noble purpose of our Catholic education.

Ghwpiea I FOREWORD With inspiration from pen, camera, and a cherished souvenir collection of snapshots, programs, pressed corsages, faded bits of ribbon, ticket stubs, sports schedules and prom diaries, we, the Class of 1952 blend the chapters of our high school record. ...fwdm gg r ,rri 5' Entrusted by the Bishop with the general super- intendence of education in our diocese, Father Maher's administrative position is highly impor- tant, since by it, he is charged with the direction of the spiritual and temporal achievement of thousands of boys and girls in our Catholic schools. Through association with our Reverend Super- intendent in the diocesan school system, Delonites have grown to listen for his fatherly directives through the voice of their pastors.
