...fwdm gg r ,rri 5' Entrusted by the Bishop with the general super- intendence of education in our diocese, Father Maher's administrative position is highly impor- tant, since by it, he is charged with the direction of the spiritual and temporal achievement of thousands of boys and girls in our Catholic schools. Through association with our Reverend Super- intendent in the diocesan school system, Delonites have grown to listen for his fatherly directives through the voice of their pastors. Annually our Spring Music Festival highlights the music activities when both Band and Glee Clubs combine to make this the year's outstanding event. Here Sister Loyola, S.S.I., head of the Music Department and Mr. Harry Stenger, Delone's esteemed bandmaster plan a selection for this year's musicale. M25 aaculiq Mmdm... gt- l' Information for Permanent Records is entered on cards by each homeroom Sister under the direction of Sister Illuminata, S.S.j. Meticulous in her effort to keep rec- ords complete and correct, Sister frequently checks items with our principal's gracious and efficient secretary, Miss Elaine Miller. The very soul of our school is the group of competent, self-sacrificing teachers who form our religious Faculty. Nineteen in number, these Sisters represent three teaching communities, Sisters of Mercy, Sisters of Christian Charity, and Sisters of St. Joseph. United in their one aim of bringing us closer to God, our Sisters have dedicated their lives to Christian youth. They teach Religion courses in their homerooms and also subjects in the various other helds as set forth in the State requirements. Our Speed Graphic has caught a fleeting glimpse of some faculty members in their daily round of duties. Not pictured here are our six Sisters of Christian Charity: Sister Cassiana QP!-e. fectj, Sister Philippine, Sister Rosemarie, Sister Myra, Sister Hermanette and Sister Edward. Assisting the religious staff in a perfect co- ordination a skilled lay faculty round out our instructors. Sister Rose Loretto, S.S.I., Guidance Coordinator, is as- sisted by Sisters Mary Guido, S.S.J., Marion Joseph, R.S.M., and Miriam joseph, R.S.M., in arranging pupils' choices of professions and vocations in preparation for Delone's Annual Career Day Conference sponsored by the Hanover Chamber of Commerce.
