Planning lunches both tasty and nutritious is a job for Mrs. Yazujian, our school dietician. U I The little known and often forgotten jobs of our school are performed by our service personnel. This corps of efficient workers is responsible for the many facets of our school life which we too often take for granted. Preparing our lunches, cleaning our classrooms, giving us heat in Winter, A great deal of the credit for the efficient operation of our school can be given to these men of the maintenance depart IDCIJI. I and taking us to and from school are only a few of the numerous activities in which these people engage. Our service personnel are of great im- pottance in the township educational system, for they can provide a foundation on which .the in- structional program can be built. Each of these is given equal consideration when the committee is deciding which students will become members of the group. The National Honor Society is strictly a ser- vice organization. The seniors of Delhaas Certainly have one memory that will not soon be forgotten. lt is a picture of the school, in which they had worked and from which they were soon to graduate, engulfed in black smoke and flames. The date was February 2, 1959. and it was on this day that the southeast wing of Delhaas High School was destroyed by fire. Although everyone was taken safely from the building, this was little consolation to the heartbroken seniors who saw their plans and dreams going up in smoke with their school. As fate would have it, their tears were premature, for through constant work and planning their classes were resumed in one week's time, and activities were carried on as planned. Although the students of Delhaas found them- selves surrounded by new equipment and a slightly smaller building, they realized that deep down noth- ing was changed. They were still one undivided school and that was all that mattered.
