It is this spirit, nurtured by our smiles and our tears, ever present in the atmosphere of our school life, that we shall always remember buf can never regain. The echoes of the past create a harmonious symphony. Our hesitant footsteps cautiously began the climbg growing surer and more steady with each promotion, walking on- ward ever upward toward the goal of graduation. Reverberations of gladness and depression, success and failure, living and growing with friends, working and playing together, culminating in an achievement sense of mutual compatability, of belonging to our school, our friends, our community and our country. For future years it has been our humble attempt to capture the memories of our wonderful days at Delhaas in the following pages. Walter D. Miller Regional Superintendent ZZ U U For his twenty-five years of faithful service to the Bristol Township school district, we, the student body, would like to recognize Mr. Walter D. Miller. Mr. Miller has been the guiding light in furthering the pro- gress of our educational system. He has directed and assisted in the pioneering of many new aspects of school life during the past quarter of a century. Coming to the school district in 1931, Mr. Miller started as a teaching principal at the Old Edgely Elementary School. Ten years later, when the junior high was completed, he taught history. In 1948 he became supervising principal, and three years later the county superintendent of schools appointed him regional superintendent, his present office. Today, he holds the highest position in the school district. Mr. Miller has helped to mold our district from a tiny, trivial area to a mighty and prominent region, and he deserves all our praise and respect for his loyal devotion. His is one of the vivid echoes of our past, a living vibration of the present, and a promising guide for the future. '6 Mr. Miller thinks . . . before he explains the details of a new pro- ject. Mr. Miller plans . . . as he stud- ies some blueprints. Mr. Miller executes . , . as he dictates a letter to Miss Joyce Curry, administrative secretary.
