We knew we'd have to give you a helping hand. For you see we'd all loved to help you. Because of your warm and loving smile. It made everything seem so easy and it kept us content inside. Now we have to get used to not seeing you. Now we have to accept the fact that you have gone away. And we’ll try not to cry................ Mel. your courage and bravery taught us A Lesson. That our hearts can never forget! You must be God’s most miraculous little angel. That we have ever met!! FOOTBALL - BOYS BASKETBALL 1982-83 SPORTS YEAR IN REVIEW KOENEGS KILLERS The 1982-83 Volleyball Season proved to be a disappointing one for the Lady Panthers due to the fact that we were unable to qualify for the State Volleyball Tournament. Game results did not give a true picture of the type of play that the Lady Panthers exhibited throughout the year. Despite it being termed a rebuilding year, the Lady Panthers were not to be denied. They worked hard to display exceptional skill and much im- provement. With a few breaks, the Lady Panthers could have been qualifiers to the State Tourna- ment. This indicates that the students in Dclcambrc have pride, and care about the traditions of their school. The ‘83 track team represented their school well all year, with the climax coming at the District track meet, which we won handily. I want to thank the young men who made up the team, as well as the entire school and faculty for the tremendous support received throughout the year. It is often difficult to say farewell, and express appreciation to a very spe- cial friend. On the evening of May 24, 1983 family, friends, colleques and for- mer students gathered to honor Gloria Wiggins. Words can not describe the love, respect, and admiration that filled the room. The group stood united to express gratitude for the 25 years of unfailing support, guidance, and leader- ship provided by this very special lady. Glo, please know that you will forever be a part of our school. We shared all of our pains and joys. But then you started school and thought life couldn’t be any better. Lives were brightened by your smile. And things were great more than a while. You didn’t know yet what life could mean. Because there is so much more to be seen. To care, love, and share. All at once when things were going your way, A traumatic thing happened and you were taken away. Now still the days go by, with some still wanting to cry.
