Chad has also received recognitions in fields other than sci- ence. He served at Boy's Pelican State and led his party for Government Day. In the 1974-75 school year, she was local FHA president and district IV treasurer. She attended leadership camp in Bunkie in the summers of '74 and '75. Being a Louisiana dele- gate, Kathy went to an FHA national convention in Chicago, Illinois in 1974. She also repre- sented Louisiana in Michigan at Camp Miniwanca in 1975. The band has marched in several parades such as: The Sugar Cane Festival Parade in New Iberia, The Dairy Festival Parade in Abbeville, the Delcambre Christmas Parade, and the Homecoming Parade. On February 25, some members of the band attended Solo Ensemble which was held at U.S.L. The band has 11 groups that attended and ten medals were issued out. Out of the 11 groups, 4 groups were given superior ratings, 5 were given excellent ratings, and 2 groups were given very good rat- ings. On April 6. the band attended the District Festival which was held at U.S.L. The band rated a very high II rating on stage.
