We, the members of the 1971 Yearbook staff, take great pleasure in dedicating this annual to Mr. Joe Chapman. He has been the Industrial Arts teacher at DHS for the last seven years. He was advisor to the Student Council for three years, an assist- ant coach for three years, and has been the yearbook advisor for the last four years. He has taught adult driver's education, student driver's education, and adult education at night school. However, to most of us, he is much more than just a teacher. To his students he is an unofficial counselor, ready to listen and show genuine concern to their problems. To Mr. Cashen, he is an electrician, carpenter, and all-around handiman. To the young boys, he is new scout master who recently organized a boy scout troop. As a citizen of the Delcambre community, Mr. Chapman is the captain of the Delcambre Police Reserve, President of the Delcambre Shrimp Festival Association, and a vice-president of the Lions Club. To you, Mr. Chapman, we would like to express our appreciation for your unself- ish willingness to be of service to our school and community and we are happy you have made them yours. 4
