lDlELlBARTON SINKS URATURY 19 0 0 In the mud and rain Delbarton routed Oratory 19-0. It was halfback Frank McGuire who sparked the Green Wave all day. McGuire ground out yardage all day and scored on a 15 yard run. Both Delbarton and Oratory had to confine their five passing attacks to a minimum. As a result of the mud both teams ran basic plays all day. Delbarton's heavier line meant the difference. Soriano and Benjamin scored the other two touchdovsms on short plunges. is t Atv ,ga .Q .N Gigs if X x. x inset x a , mS ' X K X.. s X x 'N V sz :ss , .J M- 3 5 514332 ai!! is ix N we N N '. Benjamin plunged over for the first touchdown and at the end of the Hrst quarter the score was 6-0. Then the Green Wave tumed it on. Fine blocking, smart running, accurate passing, and sure catches gave Delbarton a 31-0 half-time lead. In the third quarter Delbart0n's Hrst team ex- tended their lead to 50-O. With about 6 minutes left in the third quarter, Coach Regan Hooded the field with reserves. They, too, were not to be denied as they ran up two more scores. Cote, Reilly, McGuire, Soriano, and Holme all broke into the scor- ing column. The game ended with the scoreboard reading Delbarton 64, Visitors 6. xx Q SR. Blair recovered a fumble on their own 40 and five plays later they led 6-0. On the conversion attempt a had pass from center forced the kicker to run. The PAT was good and the score was 7-0. Del- barton came back as Frank Walsh inter- cepted a Blair pass and went 45 yards for the score. An attempted kick was blocked, hut Blair was offside. NIL-Cuire tried to run it over on our second try, but was stopped short hy the Blair line. The rest of the game was filled with unsuccess- ful Delharton drives. One by one Blair stopped each drive. Both teams looked sharp as crisp blocks resounded over the field. This was one of the finest games Delbarton has ever played.
