Q Qi ,X Utllillllll The members of the senior class are honored to dedicate this last joint literary effort of our high school careers to the one person who more than anyone else has influenced the pattern of our lives during the past four years -our Headmaster, Reverend Dr. Stephen W. Findlay, O.S.B. At Delbarton a three-fold education has been ours. Scholastic, religious, and athletic endeavors have all been presented with the proper emphasis. In these fields Father Stephen has been not only a teacher to us but a guide and friend as well. He has helped us gain every possible benefit from each phase of our Benedictine education. A leader in academic affairs, a model for us in religious matters throughout our stay at Delbarton, he has devoted himself to the establishment of a high set of standards and to the maintenance of those standards. His eight years of leadership have been characterized by tireless activity in supervising the spiritual and material welfare of a growing educa- tional enterprise. Increased enrollmentg construction of more adequate facilities for study and recreationg and the steady improvement and enhancement of the campus are products of the boundless energy and love he has poured into the development of a fine preparatory school. Throughout our lives we shall remember Father Stephen and strive to emulate the example of the perfect Christian gentleman he has set for us. FU' aww-W REVEREND STEPHEN W. FINDLAY, O.S.B. AFTERWORD The staff of the 1950 Archway wish to express their thanks and appreciation to all those who have helped in the preparation of this yearbook. Its publication would have been impossible without the supervision of the facultyg the financial aid of our patrons and friendsg the mechanical assistance of our publisher and our photographer. We have tried to give our readers a glimpse of all our activities. But more important we have tried to record the way in which Delbarton molds men. Under the well-rounded program of the Benedictine Fathers, we have matured not only mentally but morally and physically. We can now go forth into a new world of higher education fortified with the spiritual strength they have infused into us, We wish to thank our parents and our teachers for enabling us to spend the past four years gaining the finest possible education in such pleasant surroundings. Their efforts and many sacrifices have been the great contributing factors in the formation of our character. We shall try to be worthy always of the trust they have placed in us.
