Classes, club meetings, assemblies and basketball games are all part of that which will never be forgotten. The ticking of the clock, the waiting for last period, just getting through history, reading a good book--this is all of what Delaware has meant to us. If this twelfth Delaware can just for a minute help you to relive these memories, the work in preparing this yearbook will have been worth all the time in the world. Anonymous . . . fbeogcafzbn yyrs. ,77Z21f1ef jgfbfwef Mrs. Ryder and Mrs. Pickwell. What student of Delaware Valley has never heard of these ladies always willing to aid any student in need of advice - whether it be school affiliated or other wise. Any commercial student will attest to the fact that these women are an asset to our school and the commercial pro- gram. fDe0Qcaf1bz2 ,MMM QMJM WFS. WIZHG While teaching commercial subjects, Mrs. Pickwell and Mrs. Ryder have helped many students climb the ladder of success in the business world. And so, for all these contributions they have made so unselfishlyg we dedicate the 1968 edition of the Delaware to these two dedicated teachers. Cgcfoof oar The School Board of the Delaware Valley High School is composed of members selected to represent the ideas and opinions of the citizens of our region. The main topic of discussion this year was the building of the new school, which should be completed in 1970. This year two new members were elected to serve on the School Board. I-IANKINS Dean of Girls QUIQDCQ New to our school system this year, Mr. Dux came with a B.S. in Education from Kutztown and an M. S. from Rutgers. He has had experience in public school teach- ing and counseling both in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Dux has worked with each senior to assist with plans for the future whether those plans included college, armed forces, or a local job. His greatest concern has been to encourage students to think for themselves . Interviewing each seventh grade girl at the beginning of the school year was one of Miss Hankins' duties. Additional confer- ences with other girls were also scheduled. While supervising the cafeteria during four lunch shifts, Miss I-Iankins had many oppor- tunities for individual guidance. Miss Han- kins also taught two classes of Problems of Democracy and was advisor to the Yearbook Club and the Junior Historians. Two concerts were presented - 0116 at Christmastime, and one in the Spring. A mixed ensemble suitably composed of selected seniors sang selection at an ecumenical service which was very well received. In March the chorus traveled to New York where they saw the musical production, Man of La Mancha . There is also a seventh and eighth grade glee club that meets twice a week to give choral experience to all interested students, and to prepare them to sing in the senior chorus. FIRST ROW: M. In addition to many new cheers, they have developed new techniques and ways to present them to the students at pep rallies. Besides cheering for the team at home, the girls have lent a booster to the morale of the team during away basketball games. This year these cheerleaders have begun to cheer for the wrestling team. The new uniforms purchased by Student Council have greatly improved the appearance of the cheerleaders. Black skirts with an inverted white front pleat, white v-neck sweaters, black oxford shirts, black knee socks, and saddle shoes completed the picture. FRONT: Georgia Snyder, co-captaing Donna Crine.
