IN MEMORY OF DR. PETER CLICK, JR. 1922-1986 K T Perter Click, jr. Received his Bache- lor of Arts degree from Princeton Uni- versity in 1945, his Bachelor of Science from Trenton State College in 1948 and his Master of Education and Doctor of Education from Rutgers University in 1949 and 1962 respectively. He joined the Faculty of our College in 1948 and continued to serve with distinction and outstanding dedication until his un- timely death in September, 1986. Dr. Click had a varied and fulfilling career. He was proud of his heritage, our Col- lege and our country. He served as a Marine Corps Officer during World War II and part of the Korean War with combat duty on Okinawa and Civil Af- fairs duty in North China and as a Tac- tics Officer at Camp Pendelton, Califor- nia. . He served as Captain of Margate City Beach Patrol in New Jersey from 1948-1968. At our College, Dr. Click served as Assistant Professor of Political Science, Associate Professor of General Studies and as Professor of Liberal Arts. He was the Chairman of the Division of liberal Arts from 1980 until his demise. . . Dr. Click was very interested and excep- tionally active in College affairs. He served in many capacities: Director of Graduate Placement, Director of Ath- letics, Recruiter for the Office of Ad- missions, Football Coach, Faculty Advi- sor to the Student Government, Chairman and Member of numerous Faculty Committees and Chairman of the College ' s Middle States Evaluation Coordinating Committee in 1962. Dr. Click has published several books and numerous articles in various news- papers and magazines. He wrote a col- umn on a weekly basis in the Intelligencer. Dr. Peter Click, Jr. was an outstand- ing teacher. He taught Political Sci- ence, American History, Foreign Affairs and Speech at our College. His lectures were highly organized, informative and presented in an enthusiastic manner. He continually challenged his students and colleagues to do their very best. He enjoyed athletics and the fine arts. He was happily married for more than 30 years to his beautiful wife, Mary Lou, who preceded him in death. Dr. Click, who was my personal friend, was always ready to help the College and the stu- dents. His broad and sincere smile and firm handshake were his trademarks. In good times and in difficult times he would come forth with concrete sug- gestions and with moderate views. He was a peacemaker and a problem solver. His name will be perpetuated at the College by his many accomplishments and through the Dr. and Mrs. Peter Click, jr. Scholarship Fund which they established in 1982 and to which Dr. Click willed a substantial sum of monies. I and many others will miss his coun- sel, support and friendship. Dr. Peter Click, jr. will always be remembered by all who were privileged to know him. Joshua Feldstein
