Dr. Elson has been teaching Chemistry at D.V.C. since 1946. As both in- structor and friend he has always made himself available to the students who either seek aca- demic help or good conversation. Dr. Elson has made us aware of the importance of an academic education and the many benefits that come with We thank him and we hope that he continues sharing his experiences and wisdom for many years to come. Life is the search for a dec night ' s sleep. Christie Brinkley The laundry of my life I base most ot my fashion taste on what doesn ' t itch. Gilda Radner The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win you ' re still a rat. Lily Tomlin I think everything I do is wonderful. God had to create disco music so that I could be born and be successful. Donna Summer Not ready for prime-time dancers I once sat backward on a train going forward and wondered — Am I looking at my past Or, afraid to face the future. ■J a HP---i . .jt IHBWw 1. BW ' t — Although I ' m basically de- signed I ' m never easy to define. KHR Reflections on time when things were a lot simpler Now everything is tied in knots, chains we have put on ourselves, self-imposed limitations. Life is simple. We as people living and feeling, we make it complicated. If we could just be happy with the simple things. Instead of always, looking for problems, searching for complications. It is human nature to be alsays looking for more. Never accepting things for what they seem on the surface. Often under the surface, people are much more complicated. We must search deeper to find the worthwhile, the special care of each person. So on we go looking for complications, because we feel we must. -Nancy Lukert- 1 i 1 1 m M 1 k If I was to leave Could I trust in our feelings To hold us together, to keep us strong If you think you have lost me If you think that it ' s over I ' ve just got to say, that you ' re wrong It ' s not my way And it ' s not my revelation And it ' s not what I want It ' s just my destination The future is near vThough this way it never comes And yesterday ' s dreams will help me ham on The roads ahead are uncertain They are far too long, and much too cold Can I trust in you to help me be strong To help me carry on . . . Soccer 38 Jay Simonds MEN ' S CROSS COUNTRY The 1984 Men ' s Cross Country Team completed their fall season with a winning 7 and 4 record. The team was led by Senior Captain Tom Reynolds who was second in team scoring, and who was voted the Outstanding Har- rier Award by his team-mates. The criteria for this award are both performance and leadership. The other senior letter winner on the team was Dave Ries who was competing for the first time. Leading scorer for Dr. Berthold ' s thin-clads was Ju- nior Ken McDaid, with Junior Al Krouse scoring the third most points for the team. Other letter winners were Sophomores Dave Spotts, John Thomson, and Don Billet. This year ' s team was probably the most balanced team in the school ' s history, with the top six team mem- bers each scoring an average of four or more points per meet. The most satisfying victory came against an NCAA Division II team Bloomsburg a team which the Aggies had never beaten in the past. The margin of victory was one point! Many of the team ' s losses this year were also by close margins. It is hoped that with the loss of only two senior lettermen, and with the further development of the un- derclass team members plus the addition of some new incoming runners that the 1985 team will also be successful. Others from Delaware Valley taking their champion- ship bouts were junior Dan Canale at 126 who won by default over Dan Donahoe, Ursinus, 1:18.
