Anyone remaining alter school last April was sure to see the D.T.H.S. thin clads running through their paces under the able guidance of Coach Ioseph Chil- bert. Iohn Reeves and Arnold Buccarelli always seemed to be climbing into the air over the pole vault bar, while Gary Barkow and Eddie DeSousa contested for the lead in the low hurdles. Tom Wade would leap over the high hurdles while Buzz Botbyl and Ken Goldsmith practiced for the 880 and Don Zimmer- man tested the 440 dash plus the broad jump. On the other side of the field one could see Rich Davidov and Iohn Iones heaving the shot put as Archie Stalcup threw the discus and Ted Hesser hurled the iavelin. Although not a spectacular year, it was a very fruitful one and the team only missed lirst in the Olympic Conference meet by a very narrow margin. as Gary Barkow won the 180 low hurdles. Art Lyons tied for first in the pole vault, Don Zimmerman won the 440, and Rom Finley won the 120 high hurdles. The teams leading high-hurdlers, Tom Wade and Tom Finley. Spnnters E. DeSouse, Art Lyons and Gary Barkow practice a start. Ace broad-iumper Don Zimmerman leaping to the cheers of some of his teammates.

Beginning its second year of competition, the team proved to be worthy opponents for the teams they played. From the first game to the last. they showed a fine display of athletic ability and good sportsmanship. The softball team has demonstrated admirable spirit in upholding Delaware Township's name.
