STUDENT COUNCIL DANCES The student council annually sponsors a Hal- lowe'en dance, a Valentine's dance, and a squaredance. At the Hallowe'en dance an in- formal atmosphere of mischief prevails as costumed bums and beatniks, devils and an- gels, witches and ghosts, and a host of other as yet unnamed creatures join forces in the iun. The highlight of the Valentine dance is the crowning of a queen from nominations made by the council. And, an old-fashioned squaredance is a new kind of fun for DT students. f S 4. 53356125 i Faculty and students alike enjoy the call to swing your partners at the annual Hoe-down . In 1955 there was no band in Delaware Township High School. At the end of our first year, however. as a result of instrumental instruction, the band's first rehearsal present- ed an enrollment of fifty. By the end of the second year, with more instruments available for instruction, the enrollment increased to sixty-five members. In the next two years it grew to its present size of one hundred and twenty uniformed student musicians. The band entertains the student body at assemblies and at pep rallies, in addition to presenting an average of ten concerts per year to the public. The band's peak perform- ance is heard at the Annual Music Festival in the spring. During the football season the band prepares elaborate pre-game and half- time shows for everyone's enjoyment. mmr - - f-- vssmmme f, .....,.-, rewwwwttmwmnzmfummmsfwenwmf .fmuewm-.Ks -.sm
