FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA CLUB The Future Teachers of America Club is sponsored by Miss Phyllis Mar- cocci, The purpose of this club is to interest students in becoming teach- ers through an exploration of educa- tion a's a career. Future Teachers of America strives to provide students with an opportunity to work with child- ren, to understand the value of teach- ing in American society, and to render service to the school and community. Members are initiated annually in a school assembly during American Education Week. Activities for the past year included trips to colleges, meet- ings with professional educators, the distribution of Christmas gifts to ill school children and experience in prac- tice teaching.
