THE JUNIOR PROM. MAY 'l. 1959 The funior Prom climaxed weeks of preparations and plans. With skillfully made decorations and a flick of the imagination the gym was transformed into an isle of enchantment whose shores were lapped with waves of melody by Ioe Conway's Band. Palm trees lined the floor and a small island com- plete with canoe and native hut stood idyllically in the center of the tropical paradise. The flickering candles and golden pineapples atop individual tae bles circling the dance floor contributed to the Ha- waiian atmosphere of a most unforgettable evening. The dancers seem to enjoy the Polynesian atmosphere. wx -dv' 43 Most couples enjoyed parties both before and after the prom and refreshment afterwards at one of the plush local restau- rants, such as the appropriate Hawaiian Cottage. All these little extras enhances a wonderful evening of fun and danc- ing at the prom itself. Some early arrivals to the prom find themselves marroones on a lonely South Sea isle in a Hawai ian Paradise . They are Cl. to r.l Indy Long, Ronald Schearer, lerri Kerr Iohn Musitano, Marsha Fishman, and Alan Cohen. Q-ww Bidding a fond farewell to their tropic isle are Faye Bohon and her date. Memories of this first iunior prom will inadvertently come to mind with every golden pineapple, sunny Hawaiian travel poster, and soft South Sea music. - 4
