I must be gettin' oldln Headin' For A Weddin' The Junior-Senior Class play took place November 12, 1971, at 8 p.m., under the direction of Kay Saxon and student direc- tion of Diane Osmundson. Headin' For a Weddin' is a hillbilly comedy, and takes place in the main room of a mountain cabin in Virginia. The hero, Homer Hollowbone, has fallen in love with beautiful Melissa Dugan, whose picture he found in a newspaper wrapped around some fish. He begins writing her letters, say- ing he lives in a mansion, and is a very refined, educated person, which is an ex- aggeration. He really lives in a shack with his poor, uneducated family. Maw and Fanny Jane are the hard workers. Paw eats, sleeps, and teaches Gloria, his pet skunk, tricks. Sarah Jo and Gracie May spend their time teasing Homer and chasing boys. It's been a hard winter,.and they are now in the midst of a snow storm. Widow Blairhouse and her son Slim, and daughter Bertha, who is constantly trying to 'hookn Homer, arrive to take refuge from the storm To add to the confusion, Mellissa arrives, explaining that she is on her way to marry her handsome, well-educated Homer. Even- though Homer tries to keep Melissa from discovering his identity, she learns the truth and seeks revenge.
