HOIVIECOIVIING Darwin Sprong, Barb Rothe, Queen Peggy Lubitz, King Denny Braunshausen, Trudy Whitehead, Roger Perrizo David Johnson and Heidi Harper The 18th annual homecoming festivities of Delavan High School opened October lb, 1971, after weeks of planning and preparation. Leading the program of skits, put on by var- ious classes, was Darwin Sprong, Master of Ceremonies. The 1971 football team was pre- sented by head coach Mr. Otteson, and assist- ant coach Mr. Midthun. The processdonal was led by Freshman Queen and King LuAnn Whitney and Tim Murry, followed by Spphomores Anne Hansen and Brian Shoemaker, and Juniors Tam Lent and Mark Tibodeau. Next the Queen can- didates with their managers were introduced: Peggy Lubitz escorted by Scott Verdoorng Trudy Whitehead escorted by Randy Grupeg and Barb Rothe escorted by Brian Johnson. The King candidates and their managers followed: Denny Braunshausen with Cindy Jenseng Darwin Sprong with Jeanette Murryg and Roger Perrizo with Judy Whitehead. Heidi Harper and David Johnson carried the Queen's crown and King's plaque. Mr. Roberts presented the plaque to King Denny, who then crowned Peggy as Queen. The pep fest was held immediately after the coronation around the bonfire furnished by the Freshmen. After the fire burned low, a snake dance was formed, led by the cheer- leaders to the village square where the even- ing ended in rousing cheer.

Colors chosen were shades of blueg the theme, 'A Time For Us.N The WCoa1itionN provided music for the evening, which proved to be a very beautiful and enjoyable evening.
