Headin' For a Weddin' is a hillbilly comedy, and takes place in the main room of a mountain cabin in Virginia. The hero, Homer Hollowbone, has fallen in love with beautiful Melissa Dugan, whose picture he found in a newspaper wrapped around some fish. He begins writing her letters, say- ing he lives in a mansion, and is a very refined, educated person, which is an ex- aggeration. He really lives in a shack with his poor, uneducated family. Maw and Fanny Jane are the hard workers. Paw eats, sleeps, and teaches Gloria, his pet skunk, tricks. Sarah Jo and Gracie May spend their time teasing Homer and chasing boys. It's been a hard winter,.and they are now in the midst of a snow storm. Widow Blairhouse and her son Slim, and daughter Bertha, who is constantly trying to 'hookn Homer, arrive to take refuge from the storm To add to the confusion, Mellissa arrives, explaining that she is on her way to marry her handsome, well-educated Homer. Even- though Homer tries to keep Melissa from discovering his identity, she learns the truth and seeks revenge. CLASS PLAY I 1 Time for my midnight pickle. Others hid it,,,Cindy proved it!! They will never forget the excitement of grow- ing up. It all started in September of 19603 little feet walking as fast as they could to their first grade room feeling a little grown-up for the first time. Time went on and they were split in fourth grade because the class was too large fprobably 'too muchub for one teacher grade finally came and at this time everybody started a whole new life. It was time to mature. As the years Went by so rapidly, it was time for the Junior Prom That was really exciting, knowing it was their turn to compete against proms in the past years. Now is their Senior year. A time to really enjoy everything, knowing it will be the last year, you can. Although the Class of '72 must say good-bye, the memories of DHS will be with them forever. COMMENCEMENT Darrel Behrens is one of the first to receive his diploma. The reception line brought tears of happiness and of sadness. The Senior class sang HTO Sir With Loven in dedication to Mr. Roberts. 62 --- 'Q-'swan Z- 1 3'+5?EZI QKEHEE when hm- Above: Mr. Roberts gives the Seniors a few inspiring words to live by.
