Today marks the dedication of the new Dolavan High School. This Building is the product of the continuous efforts and inspiration of the class of '54 who has left its mark upon the minds of many. By the way. this is your on-the-spot reporter, Carol Stevens, relating the events of this day of days. Carol: As we come to our spacious auditorium, we find Superintendent Walter Pawly introducing the guest speaker. Scogge Doyle, senator from Wisconsin. Senator Doyle recently investigated the Schmaling-Quinney monopoly on farming in Wisconsin. What s this? A telegram has just been delivered. It's President Boutelle sending his regrets. He's in Washington—playing golf with Ex-President Eisenhower. The class of '54 is well represented today. Elfrieda Vriezen is busy untangling her five children from Donna Stevens throe. I wonder what it would be like if Elfrieda had brought her other seven along? I just caught sight of Shirley Milton. You remember, Shirley married Diamond Joe Jones. What's this Shirley is saying? Shirley: Too bad more of the old gang couldn't make the reunion. Fritz. I hear Kit Kenney was just promoted to major in the Marines, and Bob Bruce, the jet ace. is whirling around setting another world's record. Fritz: Oh? I just saw David Hume's new Colorvision picture starring Hopalong Gordon. Terry McCray is the art director and Barb Murphy is costumes mistress. This new picture is bound to win an Oscar . Shirley: Did you know Johnny Peters has four little boys? One's name is Toni. Carol: Let's browse through the building. At the top of the escalator and to your right is the English Department. Mr. Zoeller's successor. Richard Kozak, has recently written a book. How to Skip School Successfully. The new English textbook this year is I Go Pogo. written and edited by the renowned author. Ronnie Gough. Behind the smoke you see curling out of that room at the end of the corridor is Carol Morrison, the head of our Physics Department. Shirley: Oh say. did you hear that Ken Knack is now head of the Borg Corporation? They manufacture the clocks that Frank Jonuska and Jack Freund use in their 1979 Ponties. Fritz: This must be the nurse's room. I hear that Diana Eaton is a huge success as a nurse—she gives everyone an aspirin. Carol: Do you see that cubby hole at the far left? That's Barb Steff's office. She did such a bang up job in 1954 that she was hired as permanent editor of the Comet. Shirley: I hear EJaine Schwardt is making a hit as the new school bus driver. Fritz: Our classmates have certainly accomplished things. Janice Kroll, Joy Kovarik. and Shirley Beyritz are the sensational dancing trio. Shirley: Yes. and the Red Devils have a rival now—Bob Dickman's football team. It's won the state championship ten years in a row. (J. Edward Cantwell, head of the F.B.I., will have to look into this.) Stan Sutton is another D.H.S. athlete who made good. He's playing tackle for the Los Angeles Rams. Fritz: What ever happened to Ron Smith? - 18-
