The Student Council The Student Council is composed of the four officers from each high school class. Meetings were held twice a month, with the president presiding and Mr. Kleyensteuber as the faculty adviser. The Student Council conducted the elections for all high school offices at the beginning of the fall term. They sponsored a contest for new cheer leaders to be selected by the votes of the student body. The Homecoming was another big event, including a snake dance, bonfire, parade, presentation of prizes, and crowning of the Queen. Shirley Josephson, at the Homecoming dance. The Sadie Hawkins dance and a mixer were also provided by the Student Council. Bob Koval was backed by the Council In organizing the boys' bowling teams. SUPERINTENDENT J. F. LUTHER The COMET serves an important objective in the school life of Delavan High School. Through the records and pictures in this book our students are able to relive many of the interesting events of high school days. These pleasant associations and the friendships formed leave memories that should be kept alive. It is this continued interest in school that helps those that are now in high school to carry on some of the fine work that was started by our graduates.
