Dear Everyone: Martin and 1 would like to thank everyone who has given us help, encouragement, and most important, friendship! As you know, it is very hard to break up and leave your family, even if it is only for a year. The fact that you opened up and let us be part of your group really helped Martin and me to adjust to this year away from home. Personally, I will always keep the community of Dclavan in my heart, and I will have only nice and beautiful memories of my year here in America. It is going to be very hard to leave all my new American friends, some of whom I will never sec again, but you can keep in mind that I think very highly of all of you. I would also like to express my thanks to all the teachers and school personnel that have been of great help to me. You’re great people. Now I’ll give Martin a chance to say a few words too. I. as well as Joe, will miss all of you very much. How could I forget all the football games, the mixers, and the other activities that I have participated in throughout the year; and, of course, all the other things 1 have shared with my friends. Another thing that won’t leave me untouched is the impression that I take back to my country. America has shown me in every way what beautiful people live here. All those things have contributed to change my mind about America. I have to confess that the impression we have about America in my country is not very good. People there, like in the rest of Latin America, told me about the bad things that I would find, but my stay here has certainly proved them wrong. You can be sure that I will tell them how wrong they were when I get back. Finally, Martin and I. would again like to express our thanks to all of you. We love you all!
