Text from Pages 1 - 168 of the 1980 volume:

A new decade means changes. As we start the 80 s we look around the Delavan area and see familiar surroundings, but are then surprised and proud of the growth our area is experiencing. While memories survive, the town does not remain at a stand still. Such innovative changes as a new hotel and a sewer system at the lake can be compared to a sign of the times, just like rising inflation and the inevitability of an increase in the price of gas. Yes, Delavan has seen much change in the past year, much needed, some unwanted, but all in the name of progress.
