Thacker Heads Strong Team With a record of 8-3, the 1977-78 Harriers did better than was expected. Jeff Thacker became the premiere runner in the Southern Lakes Conference. The highlight of the season was beating conference and regional champions, Mukwonago, on a cold, wet, and windy day. This made up for the poor post season tournament showing. Since the J. V. .team was also 8-3, next year appears to be another good year with returning team members. - Darrell Hessenthaler I. The 1977 D-DHS varsity football team started the season after 28 years with a new head coach and a new offensive formation. The team finished the season with four wins and five losses. Some high points of the football season were our rainy Homecoming victory over Lake Geneva and our fourth quarter comeback over Elkhorn. Even though the offense had a hard time getting started, our defense played superbly the whole season. We had a fine group of players this year and are looking forward to an enjoyable season in 1978.
