STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council consists of the following officers and members: President: Bob Vcrhoef, Vice President: Avis Dutton, Secretary: Janat Henschel, and Treasurer: Patsy Veley. The additional members are: David Peterson, Donnie Oleston, Ernie Kalb, Gordon Putman, Danielle Duvall, Dick McCarthey, Tom Krueger, Jerry Conley, Mary Ann Geist, Eugene Hejhal, Sally Smith, Bob Anderson, and Bill Larson. The purpose of the Student Council is to provide participation in school »vcrnment, establish better understanding between faculty and students, afford training in citizenship, and insure a sincere respect for law and order. The Student Council directs five commissions. Each commission consists of a chairman from the Student Council, and four members from the Student Body. The commission are Social, Pep Assembly, Finance, and Noon Hour. As in previous years, the Student Council took charge of the magazine sale, which netted a profit of one hundred dollars. An added responsibility this year, was to take charge of the Homecoming activities, which included a parade and dance. The Youth Center Project, which was started last spring by the Student Council, with help from the P.T.A. is held Saturday evenings at the American Legion HalL October 20; 1954, the Student Council officers and two members from the Student Body, went to Walworth to attend a County Student Council Meeting. Teen-age Problems and Inter-School Relationship were the main topics. Some of the problems discussed were discipline, car driving, and teen organizations.
