Senior Class Prophecy One day last September, on our return trip from New York where I had an engagement singing at the Blue Note Night Club. Don and I realized that we were going to pass through our old home town, Darien Better known for its famous saying The Town with a Future. Seeing as we had a few hours to spare we decided to stop in and see if we could find some of our old friends. As we stepped out of our new Cadillac on Main Street, we saw that many new changes had been made and that Darien's future had really developed. Glancing down the street 1 saw a very distinguished gentleman walking toward me. taking a second look I realized it was William Meyer. After a few minutes discussion 1 found out that he was now the new Superintendent of Darien High School and had taken on all responsibilities, including Chemistry class H said that they had a new school and that the students were just as smart as ever He then had to hurry off to a teachers meeting but before he le.c I asked him where my old friend Joyce Oleston was. Much to my dismay he told me she was over m Paris, France, an officer in the U. S. Wacs and quite a prominent figure. Bidding him good-by we continued on Glancing up 1 saw a sign that said, Norm's Lingerie 1 opened the door and walked in. there stood Norma with a smile on her face, jusi as I had remembered. She recognized me and came bounding over, she told me that between caring for her shop and her little boy she was quite busy. 1 asked her if she knew where Katy Behrens was, and she said that Katy had continued living on the farm, but her name was now Bigelow. Just then in came a cute little girl and asked if her Mommy had been in yet Norma said, no, and the little girl left Norma said. Do you know who that was? Well, of course 1 didn't so Norma told me that she was Ann Wilke. Roberta and Chuck's little girl. I was quite surprised when Norma told me that Roberta and Chuck lived on a farm 1 was quite sure that Chuck would have still been in the garage business. Norma then said that another prominent figure in town was Allen Zw'eig who had a big contracting business and that Allen Erkfit . r.m errands for Zweig between Dclavan and Darien, she said it was quite convenient tor Erk as he still had many old girl friends in Dclavan. Feeling that Norma and I had a successful talk 1 told her that I really must gc as I hadn’t much time I bid Norma farewell and went out Don came running up with the town newspaper in his hand and told me to look at the ad in the paper. It said, Men, do you want women to swoon over you? If you do come to my studio and develop your natural charm. In three easy lessons you will know' my secrets. Prop, Bill Garber. ’ Well 1 told Don he didn't need any lessons, so we went on down the street. The next sign that greeted me was Vote for Sveiven for Mayor. Main office here. We walked in and there was Rodney giving a speech. After he had finished I walked up to him and told him who 1 was. He was surprised at our meeting but I knew that Rodney used to convince people of things, so this was a good job for him. He told me that another friend of ours. Shirley Williams was the County Nurse now and that she was climbing higher in the
