Personnel in the counseling office include Mrs. Joyce Page, student program changesg Mrs. Marian Johnson, student rec- ordsg and'Mrs. Mona Swan, switchboard operator. Busy turning out bushels of dupli- cated material for instructors is Mrs. Pat Hiett. Aiding the attendance director in keeping track of the where- abouts of more than 1,700 students is the task of Mrs. Mary Perez, attendance secretary, and Mrs. Janice Olnick, assistant secretary.

Assistant Principals Office Malcolm Young, assistant principal, checks out some work performed by Miss Annette Bramblett tleftl, special projects secretary, and Mrs. Joan Davis, secretary. Curriculum Modified Many new courses, including a changeover to a quarter elective program for most students in Eng- lish, excepting freshmen, wereintroduced this school year. ESEA Title I reading development was offered to 160 freshmen. Special help is also offered through tutoring in a dozen sessions of mathematics and for Spanish-speaking students learning English, an Eng- lish S class is taught. New offerings were a macrame and stitchery class, merchandising, a two-period nurses aide training program, two guitar classes, a three-hour course in auto replacement and repair, and an ecology class titled environmental science. An op- portunity school is provided for students ages 14 and 15 who are in the continuation program. Mr. Malcolm Young, assistant principal, re- ported that though the curriculum is slow in chang- ing, it has a firm foundation in vocational, college prep, and general education and is constantly seek- ing to meet today's changing needs. Special Services Special services personnel include James Perry, dean of students, Gene Daniels, dean of attendanceg and Robert Selent, head counselor.

The library sup- plies all facilities needed to explore the realms of information and knowledge. The materials center meets all requirements of those who seek its sup- plies. The library becomes increasingly effective as teachers and students learn to use its resources and employ its services for their education and enrichment. The library staff is composed of Pat Negrete, secretary, and Jim Hickey, librarian.
