PRI CIPAL'S OFFI C Man s image and the image- of man has changed during recent decades, A few decades ago a cultured man or woman enjoyed the long- haired music, the works of the sculptors, of artists and the great classics of the world. To- day, relatively few individuals enjoy these finer arts, if you do, you don't admit to this love, be- cause if you do, you are a square . In this day there is more demand upon man's imagination that in anytime in recorded history. There are new designs to create in buildings, airplanes, locomotives and vast numbers of other industries. Fine arts in high school help to develop man's imagination and through imagination comes saleable items to spur the economy of our great nation. Who might know that through the knowledge gained in any one of our fine arts classes, speech, drama, art, vocal or instrumental music, a new concept might be gained to put you on the road to success. Why not investigate this area of learning to see what it has in store for A5-Qt-L? COU ELOR It is the job of the counselors to make certain that every student in the school is get- ting maximum benefit from his high school years. This is accomplished by arranging a student's classes to suit his interests and a- bilities, by co-o erating with the PTA to pro- vide needy studrents with clothing and lunch money, and by keeping a complete record of each student's high school performance. The dean of counselors and the senior counselor have the extra task of helping the graduating class prepare for the change from high school to college or to a job. The counseling office maintains a vocational library whose material is available to students upon request, and in- terested students can obtain applications for dozens of fine scholarships from the dean of counseling.
