Lbecbca fion To you, Mr. lack Ritchey, We dedi- cate the 1960 Del-Ano. We know that trying to teach us the cultural background of music has been your main objective during all the years you have been at Delano High. lt has been through your Work that the students have gone out into the World to become better citizens and people. Your complete understanding of us has helped in completing this job. The Work which you have done at Delano High School with our orchestra can be seen all over the state of Cali- fornia. Many of your former pupils have gone on in the field of music largely through your instruction. They have learned the value of music from is -is 'ii -,Qs-i is., you. We sincerely hope that you will have many more successful years at our high school. The Way most students see Mr. Ritchey every day. TABLE OF CQNTENTS Introduction ....... Administration . The experiments and mathematical studies, practiced by our classes, brinqs about the development and understanding of science and math. The students realize that the more they put into these courses, the more they qet out of them. They know that in hiah school, a required amount of math and sci- ence must be fulfilled before qraduatina, so their best is put into their Work. lf it Wasn't for the excellent staff of teachers, very little could be learned. Specific requirements are made of the members. There are three orders in the club. First order is the order of the owl. Rights granted through this are a permanent library pass, excuse from class for regularly scheduled school activities, excuse from final examinations at the discretion of the teachers, and eligibility to purchase and wear the Athenian bar pin with one star. The second order is the order of the olive. lt entitles members to the privilege of getting out on first shift daily and to wear the bar pin with two stars. The order of the shield is the highest order. This gives the student the privilege of wearing the bar pin with three stars. As a money raising project, members of the society sold candy during the year. lt was a very successful project, reported the society. Delano High would also like to add that they are very grateful to the com- mittee for its establishment.
